Only a short moment after he looted it, some angry bugbear came out of his room cause of all the noise that was being made (by the other guards, but the bugbears thought the party made that noise). All hell broke loose, the monk and the paladin allmost died (paladin was 1 hp from instant death). Eventually the party managed to kill everything but this meant that Glasstaff had time and opportunity enough to run off.
They did find a find a dwarven book though. In it a story of a Magical mace named Lightbringer which was commisioned by priests of Lathander, god of dawn, from the mages of the Phandelver's pact. The mace was said to be lost when wave echo cave vanished from history.
They allso found a note in Glasstaff's quarters which linked him directly to the black spider.
Sildar was very happy and sad at the same time with this information. He sent a big group of guards to both entrances of the manors' dungeon to guard and clear it.
The party ended the day by going to bed, completely beaten to a pulp, all out of spells and hp's.
